Those worldly pursuits took me a lot places - most of them places that I shouldn't have been and did not want to go. Thankfully, the Lord was with me always and protected me from catastrophic harm and was finally able to love me into a relationship with him.
Secure Insecurities
I stand on my belief in what God can do! Nevertheless, I still tell God that I’m not good enough. I tell him someone else could do that better… I’m not qualified. I don’t have enough experience. I just don’t think I’ll have the time……. Can anyone else relate?
I Was HIS First
What’s your title? I began thinking about this question after praying for someone and praying the truth, “She was yours first!” I prayed this short sentence over and over as God started revealing to me a timeline of my own life. I’d like to paint this picture for you. On January 28, 1995, I had … Continue reading I Was HIS First
Blessings Greater Than Sliced Bread
We’ve all heard someone say that we tend to “treat God like a pill bottle”, meaning that we only go to him when we have an ailment or a problem we can’t solve. With this being true, my heart has been pricked lately of treating God like he’s “just enough.” Praying prayers of, “God, if … Continue reading Blessings Greater Than Sliced Bread
Life is Like Thanksgiving Pants!
Rubber bands. Slime. Thanksgiving pants. Winter sweaters. A mother’s patience. A Phone cord. Spandex. Muscles before a run. All of these are things that are SUPPOSED to stretch. Some of these things are useful, like those Thanksgiving Pants, and others are just for fun! Yet, no matter the purpose they are all intended to be … Continue reading Life is Like Thanksgiving Pants!
I Have Yelled at God Before
I have yelled at God before. I didn’t get a response of course. It makes me laugh now thinking about how funny I probably looked yelling into the air as if God was going to appear sitting in a chair across from me, listen patiently, apologize for the situation I was in at that moment … Continue reading I Have Yelled at God Before
Compromise
Hang out with any group of girlfriends for more than a couple of hours, and chances are you will hear one of them say "I just couldn't help myself, I had to do it!". No matter what "it" is, the point is the same....we often find ourselves blaming some invisible force for the decisions we … Continue reading Compromise
Chosen
Many women today have trouble with seeing themselves as being anything particularly special. We go through our day to day lives without really thinking about it much at all (or at least we think we do). We get up in the morning, get ready for our day. Most of us use a mirror every morning … Continue reading Chosen
Waiting
Waiting. . . A word defined by Merriam Webster’s dictionary as “to remain stationary in readiness or expectation”. Every single day, we wait. We wait for traffic lights, or for the oven to preheat. We wait for the server at a restaurant, or for our husbands to return home from work. With kids, we may … Continue reading Waiting
The Divide in the Room
The divide in the room was loud even though a word was not spoken. How can two people who stood in front of each other and committed to love each other through good and bad get to the point where the odds seem so stacked against them? Growing up, we learn how to communicate and to ask … Continue reading The Divide in the Room
Heavy Hearted
Do you ever feel like you are just going through the motions of your daily routine? Just doing what you have to do, trying to close off your emotions, focus on your daily tasks, and just get through the day? Do you ever feel like you are on the edge of an emotional breakdown and … Continue reading Heavy Hearted
